It might seem fun at the time, taking pictures of private moments between a couple. Any trouble in the relationship however, or a broken computer sent for repair, can often lead to embarrassing results.
French swimming sensation Laure Manaudou 21, won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics. In December last year she had a public breakup with her boyfriend, Italian swimmer Luca Marin.
Later that day 20 nude pictures and a racy video of Manaudou appeared on the internet. Marin denied posting them to the internet. As so often happens with nude celebrity photos on the internet, they spread like wildfire, so it is almost impossible to get them taken down.
The breakup and scandal affected Manaudou’s swimming. She suffered her first defeat in a major competition in four years in the 400 meter freestyle, finishing third. She then dropped out of the 200 meter freestyle which she holds the world record for.
She will still compete in four events at the Beijing Olympics: 400-metre freestyle, the 100- and 200-metre backstroke, and the 4×100-metre medley.
