Tight security in China for Olympics

Tight security in China for Olympics

Just six days are left for the Olympics. And security in Beijing is very tight.

A large number of security guards could be seen patrolling Tiananmen Square and other shopping areas. Armed police checked passengers on the sub-way stations.

Officials say the main concern is about separatist militants of Xinjiang and campaigners for an independent Tibet.

However, there's some respite for the authorities as far as pollution is concerned. Rain and wind have helped bring down its levels.
