Grant Hackett is set to make history by winning his third gold medal in consecutive Olympics in the 1500 meters freestyle.
“I’m not thinking about the historic side … If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” Hackett said on the third day of a weeklong training camp with his team at Kuala Lumpur. “Life sort of goes on.”
Hackett is in Kuala Lumpur now to acclimatize to the heat and humidity of Beijing.
“Physically and mentally, I feel very prepared … It looks pretty good but at the same time I mean it’s one of those things where is comes down to how you are feeling on the day as well,” Hackett said.
Hackett will also compete in the 400 meter freestyle in Beijing
